I was looking at my archive today and found this shot hidden away. Sometimes it take a year or two for me to finally see something in a shot. In this case it was not the foreground at all but the background craziness I had ignored up till now. Shame there is not more interest but still, I quite like the painterly feel.

This is one of my failed kodak T64 shots that needed a LOT of contrast to give it any kind of personality. Not having a lot of luck with these 20+ year old films

The almost failed B+W shot on my last adventure to Kawasaki. Gotta go back soon.

So I finally finished the roll and got the film shots I took at Kawasaki developed. Here is the film vs digital.
I’m not sure if you can see it here (even at a large size) but the film appears to have more depth than the digital shot which just seems flat.
In any case I like the square format a lot more.

Spent on afternoon earlier this year at Koga san’s cafe. He wasn’t around at the time and no one knew who I was but that was the beauty of it. This great little space in the middle of nowhere I’d been before. The light in the late afternoon is magic and the food is excellent. I’m hoping to go again with a few friends next time for some food and beer to kill a late afternoon / early evening.
Recommend you check it out if you get a chance.

This was shot quite a while ago. Not a flattering shot of the model but I like the atmosphere in the shot all the same.

Well, government men but they are not really G-men as referred to in Wikipedia (FBI). When I shot this the hasselblad back was dying and was causing a lot of overlapping of frames. I like the picture but have never used it cause of the overlap at the top of the frame. Obvious solution if not very pure.

On a recent trip to Australia I managed to find these little spores which I’d previously spotted in Japan. Thanks to Brett for giving me one of several random rolls of expired film which I (for only the second time ever) cross processed.

Sometimes when a perfect moment occurs, thing’s go horribly wrong. In the case of this shot I was disappointed at the time but after not viewing it for several months I’ve come back to it and had a laugh. Some shots you can’t plan

Sometimes being a foreigner with a Hasselblad at 7:30am near Tokyo station means you’re not going to blend in the with the rest of the crowd hence the look I’ve managed to capture on the mans face. This doesn’t usually happen. Most of the time I’m ignored (and not just in this country!) but it seems, in this instance, it makes the shot with him looking down. Aahh the time (and film) you can waste on a weekday morning near the station.
